Concerns with everything going free for private sellers now

sales are slowing down over the past few years due to more competition on the scene due to Resellers etc but now that private sellers get to enjoy free sales how are private sellers going to compete over time once the market gets flooded by non buisness accounts with lower price products abusing the system?

It's a sad state of affairs indeed.  I don't think anyone begrudges genuine private sellers having free sales, but all those ignorant or arrogant law breakers that trade illegally on private accounts should have the book thrown at them by ebay to redress the balance a bit.

At the moment it feels like Ebay's weapon of choice is a piece of paper for all the good it is doing.

Private sellers get only 300 free listings a month now instead of the 1000 they had before.

That may make a difference to the number of items on ebay.

As a private seller myself it is not going to make me sell anymore that I would normally.

Those so called private sellers that are really businesses and abuse the system by listing many items will be restricted to the 300.

Time will tell.

Time Will tell, however eBay need to pull their finger out and start clamping down on private business accounts.

whilst it's only 300 listings per month auto relists don't count. So within a year you could still have thousands of items for sale.

auto re lists should in my view form part of the monthly allowance as it does for business sellers.
