On Wednesday 1 October, we hosted our biggest ever eBay Open UK - bringing together over 900 sellers in person in Birmingham, with thousands more joining us online. It was an incredible opportunity to spend time with so many of you under one roof: to hear your stories, celebrate your achievements, and learn from your feedback on how we can continue to support your success.
The energy, passion and feedback you brought to the event was inspiring - and your creativity, resilience and drive continues to shape eBay into the thriving community it is today. From side hustlers to full-time entrepreneurs, from small independents to scaling businesses, this event was a celebration of you!

Highlights from the day
The agenda was jam-packed with sessions taking place on four different stages - covering everything from how to prepare for peak, to the latest innovations in AI and of course, seller panels! Here’s a few highlights from the day:
In her opening keynote, eBay UK General Manager Eve Williams announced the launch of Up & Running Grants in the UK. This brand-new programme will give 25 eBay business sellers the chance to take their business to the next level, with successful applicants each receiving a £10,000 cash grant to invest directly in your business. One of the most exciting moments of the day came from eBay’s Chief AI Officer, Nitzan Mekel-Bobrov and Xiaodi Zhang, VP of Seller Experience, who unveiled the launch of eBay AI Activate. This fully-funded programme will give 10,000 UK business sellers free access to tailored OpenAI tools and expert-led training - designed to boost productivity, streamline operations and help you compete with confidence in an AI-driven future.

Another key announcement came from David Newman, eBay’s Senior Director of Trust, who introduced new seller protections for Item Not Received Claims. Sellers who use eBay labels and dispatch on time will now benefit from greater coverage - giving you stronger safeguards for your sales and extra protection for your hard-earned reputation.

It was amazing to see so many sellers exploring our eBay Live Lounge and learning more about our new live shopping experience! Huge thank you to Big Box Gaming, Chibi Collectables UK, Trading Desk and Linda’s Stuff, who joined our eBay Live panel - and all the sellers that hosted live shopping events on the day! Seller panels were undoubtedly the overall highlight of the day! From our seller success panel, to eBay Live and a seller-led discussion with eBay leadership - expertly moderated by Matt Giles of Preloved Tech - the insights, stories, and challenges shared were a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience and creativity within our seller community.

Thank you to the eBay seller community!
Finally, a huge thank you from all of us at eBay. It was an unforgettable day, which is testament to the energy, ideas and passion you bring every time we come together.
