Sneaky scam which ebay should stop. Seller put his item out at 99p starting price. I bid and won at £16, includes delivery cost.. It was technically a bargain and obviously the seller didn't like the result... but then, what a surprise! the item is 'arrives' by Royal Mail at my property but RM demand £4.75 because apparently the seller didn't pay for delivery. I refuse to pay. Messaged seller to find out how this happened he says he will investigate, insisting that he paid for the delivery. 36 hours pass, no reponse. I ask what's going on, he says still investigating. I ask for a full refund. Within 30 seconds he refunds it. Ok well that's good I guess (apart from wasting my time) but this seller has negative feedback for doing a similar thing. Obviously RM return his item to him after 18 days because I won't pay the fee, so he gets a result. But how does he manage to convince RM to deliver the package in the first place when he didn't pay them?

If an item is put in a letter box with no stamp, RM will still attempt delivery, giving buyer option to pay. Refusing to pay just gets item returned, assuming he put a return address on package.
Certainly a foolish way to sell on ebay, but by you asking for refund, he could have cancelled sale and refunded with no damage to his account.
I suggest you leave negative fb for this unsatisfactory transaction. Keep it brief, so there is less chance of seller getting it removed, all you really need to say is “Very unsatisfactory transaction”. Saying too much in fb it is easy to use just one word which provides grounds for removal.

Stamps fall off , if not secured correctly.
It only takes one little corner not to be pressed down, for it to catch on those large grey, rough PO sacks and the stamp comes off.
When I was selling it happened to me as a seller. I know I paid, and the stamp was stuck on in front of me ( in the good ol' days before SD! 😊 ), but when I came back to PO to tell them, they admitted that from time to time when those grey sacks when empty, they did find a few stamps at the bottom!
I switched Post Offices, watched stamps being very firmly placed on parcels, and never had that issue again.
It may not be the seller's fault !

Entirely the sellers fault. It was a business seller...no stamps involved. It was a parcel that could not be posted through the letter box. Also he has just denied that the courier was Royal Mail but I have the fee form from the Royal Mail in front of me. Let's not make excuses here. He doesn't seem to care at all what has happened. He gets his item back. I get my money back. But he has broken a legal contract and wasted a lot of my time. Ebay need to stop this from happening especially when his feedback reads he has done this before!
