I recently issued a refund after a buyer claimed an item was not received. Fair enough, it was cheap and a tracked service was not paid for or used. In this case it's on me as the seller to cover loss, I accept that.
However, this was the feedback received:
***Beware*** Seller who wants to add on postage after the sale of the item and then doesn't even send item just threatening messages. ***Beware***
This was absolutely untrue, I didn't threaten the buyer, I'm not sure I've ever thretened anyone on eBay or anywhere else. I asked the buyer to revise and he refused, I asked eBay to remove it and suggested they ask for evidence, and amazingly they refused.
This seems extremely unfair, it's a defamatory statement. Can anyone advise if there are any avenues for reproach?

Ebay are becoming very reluctant to remove feedback.
You have asked Ebay and the buyer and both have said no.
Personally, I would contact Ebay in the morning and get a callback when you will be speaking to Dublin.
Ask if they can remove it on the grounds it is untrue,
They may be another 'no', but worth a try.
