simple delivery

Hi

I have sold an item with simple delivery postage, the item has arrived damaged. Who is responsible for the damage with simple delivery

eBay is.   Ask the buyer to open a case using the reason "Arrived damaged".   Then ebay should issue the refund and you keep the payment.

Thanks. They are already asking to return the item for a refund will they
still be able to claim it's damaged

What has the buyer done so far?

They need to open a case and use the reason 'damaged in transit' otherwise Ebay will not deal with it.

They will not need to return the item to get a full refund but they do have to start a return with that very specific 'damaged in transit' reason.

Have they opened a return case, as they only get one chance, and if they do not use the reason, damaged in transit, you will be the one refunding, not ebay.

Yep that's exactly what they have done. They have also asked if I will do a
partial refund instead of a return, which I am thinking is probably better
than getting a damaged item back. I will await the eBay rep coming back to
me.
All this for a £20 item.
Thanks Mat
