with Simple Delivery - can you take that cash & use it to pay for a better service?

Hello all.

I've never used 'Simple Delivery' before.  I can't see an answer to my question, so...

The money you're allocated for Simple Delivery from a sale - can you use that to buy a better (tracked and insured) service on your own - at RoyalMail's website for example? 

Or are you forced to pay for the service ebay approves, via ebay's platform only?

eBay provide multiple reasons why a seller might cancel the SD label.   See on here:

While you cannot do as you originally asked, there seem to be many reasons why original label could be cancelled then buy your own postage. You would have to wait for cost of original label to refund, which is why you cannot use money already paid to buy an alternative.
