Item arrived damaged using the GSP

Hi. I sent a jacket to a buyer in France using the GSP. Item 277210056851

They have shown me photos of the jacket where the seams have been pulled apart.

It wasn't like that when I sent it, I sent it with plenty of packaging.

Understandably he wants a partial refund.

What's the best way of dealing with this.

I could easily send some money from the £94 I got for the sale but the buyer has paid a lot more due to additional postage and import charges, correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I can tell he won't get any of that back, just the amount I send him?

I want the buyer to be happy, what's the best way of resolving this.

Should I get eBay involved or try to deal with this myself?

Thanks in advance

Item arrived damaged using the GSP

Tell your buyer to open an eBay return and to select the 'Arrived damaged' reason.

If they do this they'll receive a full refund of their original payment and you get to keep your payment (the GSP make the refund).

Once the return has been opened just respond with 'This item was sent via eBay's Global Shipping Programme and has arrived damaged, thus the GSP is responsible for making a refund to this buyer'.
