Big events, bigger opportunities: What’s coming for sellers
I hope you’ve had a great summer and are looking forward to the new season ahead.
The countdown for eBay Open is officially on, with just one month to go until our seller community gathers in Birmingham on Wednesday 1 October. I’m excited to meet so many amazing businesses. You can also join us online where we’ll be streaming from the mainstage all day. Act fast, spots are already filling up! Register online now to secure your place.
In other news, we’ve made Simple Delivery optional for more items priced £20 or less. This includes items in categories like Trading cards, Coins and Stamps, which are typically letter or large letter-sized and 100g or under. This helps you match delivery choices to customer needs and cut delivery costs on smaller orders.
As well as this, we know these ongoing changes around US tariffs can feel complex, and we’re here to help you navigate them. From 29 August 2025, the US de minimis exemption for imports has been eliminated globally. We’re here to break down what this means, its context and how this impacts Royal Mail international services.
It’s been a huge month for eBay Live, and we’re just getting started. From comics to toys, luxury fashion to trading cards, our new categories are bringing sellers even closer to the communities that love their products.
We’re also on hand to help eligible businesses get ready for the busy period. Sign up for our free Seller Clinic sessions, where you can chat 1:1 with our experts for personalised advice tailored to the unique needs of your business.
With eBay Open UK and local seller meetups happening up and down the country, now’s the perfect time for you to connect with other like-minded sellers and share experiences.
As always, thank you for shopping and selling on eBay.

Simple Delivery: Now optional on more lower-priced items
We’ve listened to your feedback and made Simple Delivery optional for more items priced £20 or less. This includes items in categories like Trading cards, Coins and Stamps, which are typically letter or large letter-sized and 100g or under.
It’s an update that gives you more choice. You can choose a low-cost, untracked option when protections aren’t essential, or stick with Simple Delivery to benefit from prepaid labels and automatic tracking, all at competitive prices.
Simple Delivery also comes with full coverage for loss or damage to items in transit from the moment your item is scanned by the courier until it's confirmed delivered, and you won't need to handle buyer claims yourself. If delivery issues come up, you can even request that neutral or negative feedback is removed through Seller Help. Best of all, late deliveries won’t impact your seller performance standards or service metrics.

US tariffs reminder and Royal Mail shipping changes
From 29 August 2025, the US de minimis exemption for imports has been eliminated globally. This means all shipments to the US, no matter their value, will now be subject to duties and customs clearance. We know this creates uncertainty, particularly for sellers who regularly send items to the US, and we’re here to help keep your shipments moving smoothly.
As a reminder, Royal Mail International services to the US are now disabled on eBay Labels. Please be aware that shipments may face delays due to increased US Customs checks, and non-compliant items arriving after 29 August are at notable risk of being returned to the sender.
We’ve outlined the key next steps we recommend in our official announcement post (linked below). Following this guidance will help reduce the risk of delays or returns.
