So, I bid £14 on an item, it gets accepted.
I have to go out before I pay. i come back to pay and the item has completely disappeared.
I get in touch with the seller who informs me he has accepted an offer of £15.
and thats ebay's new policy, you can accept another offer if the first one doesn't pay immediately.
How *bleep* is that?
The lovely seller informs me its my fault saying 'you snooze you lose'. Charming man.
How ridiculous. I hope his extra quid helps him out this Christmas.
Principles have gone out the window then? Why am I surprised?

That's how ebay has offers set up now, but the seller could have been politer about it.

At least you will know for next time.
I don't know if the idea was put forward by sellers, but, because buyers have 4 days to pay, when a seller accepts an offer, the item does now stay up for sale until it has been paid for.
It may be seen as an improvement, but it is probably going to lead to more alienated buyers.
Sellers have already shown their confusion in the forum as they can see they have accepted an offer and the item is still showing as being up for sale.
And, as you would expect, nobody was really told properly.
