SIMPLE DELIVERY

This simple delivery option just isn't right.  Ebay have been changing a lot of things this year simply because they were not making money. Of course they have to make money - they're a business but don't play Big Brother telling sellers what to do and how to do it.   So they bring in the buyer protection and make money that way but if you sell cheaper items i.e. clothes it suddenly makes the item a lot more expensive.  An item can be listed at only 3.99 (for instance) and I think ebay add an extra 88p or something like that.  So whats happening?  Sellers are bringing the price of items down to make them look more attractive to buyers.  The item sells, the buyer pays the extra buyer protection money and the seller gets less for their item and who wins? Ebay.  Because more items are selling because they are cheaper.  So then they think of the simple delivery where you get no real choice and unless I'm wrong, they keep the postage money and the seller gets the money for item sold. Now thats fair enough. But I only charge the buyer the amount I pay at the post office. I don't charge them a penny over that.  And if the buyers were not happy with the price, they wouldn't pay for it.  Most people don't seem to like Evri.   But I want the choice to choose how I send my item and how much I charge. I don't think it fair or right that eBay have made that decision.  And you know the real reason they are doing this?  Because they are getting more money themselves. Not because its better for us but because they have obviously done a deal somehow with Royal Mail and Evri.  So I decided to stop listing today. I don't sell much anyway but this is wrong.  It would make so much sense if people stopped selling and make a point of letting eBay know why.  I don't really think it will make any difference at all but why do we the sellers keep accepting these things?  I don't want to print off labels - do you realise that is another expense to the seller? A printer, ink and paper?   When we can have that done at the Post Office.  I'm tempted to try selling things locally and just ask for cash then maybe I'm using ebay like they're using us!!!

SIMPLE DELIVERY

I'm sure a lot of people have stopped selling,  I have,  but probably a lot or even more peeps,  have joined eBay and know no different.

Of course it must benefit eBay somewhere along the line financially, otherwise they would not have made such a big move , they are a Company, one to make money.   I'm not condoning the move,  but if it's financially better,  I understand the move.

You do not have to go to the expense of buying a new printer,  paper ink etc.  a Community manager has explained you can take a photo of the label with another device,  such as a camera or iPad take that to the Post Office they can print the label from there.
