Collecting item from post office

My item has been delivered to post office and I have the code. I am unable to collect because of disability. How do I get it.

Have you had a couple of red cards through the letterbox for attempted delivery? If that’s the case you can rebook the delivery via the Royal Mail websites

If the give the code to a friend or relative who can collect on your behalf that would be acceptable.

Is this for a dpd parcel? They are the only carrier (bar Amazon) who give collection codes out for items to be collected at the post office? I am only asking as I am not aware of Royal Mail doing this even on local collect services.
