My item had many bids on it and was due to finish in two days. Suddenly I had notification that someone had pressed ‘buy it now’ and the item had sold. How is this possible when there were many bids on it and that option had disappeared as soon as a bid was placed?

That does seem extremely odd and contrary to published policy.

The Caravan?
What are you seeing it sold for?
I am seeing it ended on 23 bids and £1500.
Are you seeing a different amount, with a BIN price ?

Is this something to do with a reserve on an item that a BIN price remains even with bids?
Interesting that it shows it sold for the same price as BIN as the highest bid placed by the same buyer and 2 hours later?
Can't explain it, not seen this before a Friday maintenance glitch perhaps? Strange things happen on Fridays especially early in the morning .

There is a thing that says BINs in the motor parts category remain until the bids reach over 50% of the BIN, but even that doesn't work here!

@papso22 I wouldn't be surprised if later on in the day that BIN price disappears when checked, and the £1500 high bid price is tops.
I'm putting the blame for this, on the Friday workmanship on the site, them indoors at eBay HQ in CaliforNIA tweaking the systems, sending things awry here. It's still late yesterday evening there , when they do most of the installing new systems! 🤔
