Can anyone tell me what protection a buyer has if he buys an item through a classified ad and pays by bank transfer? I'm thinking of buying a vehicle through such a listing but I'm concerned that if I pay via bank transfer what's to stop the seller disappearing with my money and not handing over the vehicle?
