I reduced the price of an item. Nothing else.
Everything else has remained THE SAME - the photos, title, description, postage methods, everything.
Ebay nows says "This listing has a policy violation." and the item has been 'temporarily' hidden.
I've received the following email, several times:
Your listing didn't follow our Offering to buy or sell outside of eBay policy. Offering to buy or sell outside of eBay, including sharing direct contact information prior to an eBay purchase, is not allowed.
What activity didn't follow the policy

More specific details are provided below.

What you need to do next
Go to the listing page to select Revise Listing, or go to your Active Listings in Seller Hub to edit the listing.
As you can see, the email contains precisely zero helpful information.
Any ideas? Or should I just give up and move to another site?

Agh I think I have spotted what the issue is from your copy of the listing. You have put the crown derby website on, which the automated systems think is an attempt that you have the item listed elsewhere etc. Remove that then you could be ready to rock and roll! - Ebay policy does mention you are not allowed to list external websites on your lots. I know you are trying to be helpful on your listing but don't have the link just state the details were from the their website.

It would be useful to know what the item is, if it is still listed.

Hi John,
As mentioned above the listing isn't 'live' as Ebay nows says "This listing has a policy violation." and the item has been 'temporarily' hidden.
However, in answer to your question, the listing is:
and the description is:

Not that I think this is the issue,
But, saying you only accept PayPal means nothing, as buyers pay ebay and you have no way of knowing how they fund payment.

Did someone ask you to reduce the price in order to complete the sale? You mention you reduced the price. If that was the case there may have been something in that message that raised an artificial bot eyebrow.

No, it just hadn't moved after a while and I noticed there are other, similar items on ebay, but a bit cheaper than mine.

Yeah, it's an old (and I mean old!) template that I use to base my listings on.
I should really change it.

Yeah,
I thought that too. And removed it. Still wouldn't let me list it.
Also, I mentioned that I have a similar (but different) plate listed? Well that has the same link to Crown Derby on it with no issue...?
Aaaaand(!) it was fine for 3 or so months, with the exact same description, until I attempted to lower the price this morning.
I will try again and state the details were from the their website, as you've suggested.
Edit: It now says:
Still won't have it. 😞
Thanks.

It may have escaped the bots for those three months, but ebay will update the systems, so it may have "collared" it this time. Let us know what happens as curious now! (thank you!)

I think you may be correct and that I was too hasty earlier.
I've given it a few minutes and the listing is now live again.
Item number: 296718197325 if you're interested and want to have look...
But also please see:
Item number: 296718221352, which is the other plate and at present still has the Crown Derby website listed in its description. (But likely not for much longer!)
Thanks for your help - and to everyone else who replied.
