Why is it that I keep coming across sellers that claim to be UK sellers but are in fact based in China ??
I feel that this is misleading information and misleading buyers.
Is Ebay ever going to do something about this or is it a case of "we don't care" as long as we earn our share of the sale???
This should not be allowed, if they deem that I have misleading information in a listing they are quick enough to remove the listing but these "so called UK sellers" are giving misleading information on a daily basis and nothing is done about it. 😠

A lot of Chinese sellers do have UK warehouse.
Look at estimated delivery date to indicate where item is coming from.

The location is listed now under postage so showing a RM or Evri postage price which shows the Item not the seller is located in the UK, suppose it is a little guileful ?
The way to check is to click on the seller's feedback to bring up their Feedback profile page and That will show you the seller's country of registration.
For me the clue for a Chinese seller is usually the price of the item . 🤔

This image is from one listing that is from a Chinese seller but the picture clearly states "UK Seller"

Same with the listing this image came from.
Image clearly states "UK Seller" but the seller is in fact located in China.
MISLEADING any buyers.

As I said, seller may be registered in China, but can still post item from UK.

It's worse than misleading, it's untruthful.
It's very important for buyers to know the country in which their seller is registered with eBay. Sellers who sell direct from China don't have to comply with UK safety safety standards and buyers are unlikely to have any meaningful statutory consumer protection.
We have seen Union Flags misleadingly dislayed on in listings before, but I've not seen a claim of being a "UK seller" before.
You could report this to eBay, but they may remind you that the user agreement warns buyers that eBay does not guarantee descriptions will be truthful or accurate. Or that items will even be safe, or legal!
Unfortunately hardly anyone seems to read this and many buyers expect buying here to be like the shops. It isn't. eBay is a jungle.

I understand what you mean but that is besides the point.
My point being is that on the picture it clearly states "UK Seller" in other words the seller is located in the UK.
BUT, if you check the "Seller contact information" you will find that the seller is in fact NOT in the UK but in China, hence misleading the buyers.

And there are so many more like this.
