I've received an offer but won't get the full amount and i don't understand why

I have received an offer for £15. I see that I will receive £13.94. It seems the remaining £1.06 is a protection fee - I thought the buyer paid that, not the seller?

Any guidance on this would be most appreciated, thank you

When buyers make an offer, they offer what they want to pay,

so it includes BPF, seller gets the lower amount.

If sellers make an offer, ebay add the BPF on so buyer sees total.

It can be confusing.

OK thats very helpful, thank you.

Just so I'm clear...although the buyer has offered £15 I won't get that, so in order to get the full £15, I would have to submit a counter offer (taking the BPF into account) that is actually higher than £15 to get the £15?...feels like that might involve a small amount of maths to calculate!

If you counter offered £15.00, ebay would add BPF, so buyer sees total they would pay.

If accepted, you get the £15.00

As you said it's a slightly confusing system, in that they've offered £15 but because I don't receive it in full I end up counter offering £15 back (which I recognise from their POV will be increased, inc the BPF)!

Thank you again
