Refund done what happens to the buyers premium

So just done a refund for a book not being delivered and then thought  what happens to the £1.0 2p that the buyer paid for the protection premium does eBay just keep that do I have to refund it that seems a bit of a smack in the face when they pay for a protection and then they're actually not getting it back when they do lose a book in the post....just wondering
