I sent my normal I hope to post your item tomorrow message to the buyer and I was thinking to confirm it was gone, and saw this reply from eBay:
"Your buyer has reached out about their order. Since you used Simple Delivery, we'll work with your buyer directly on any delivery related questions."
Does this mean that the buyer has not received my message? And does it mean the buyer has asked something?
I've just bought an item from a private seller and have had a message from them.
It's just a bit confusing, and frustrating not knowing what's going on

Certainly does look like the buyer has reached out to CC but it cannot be to open a case as they haven't received the item so not for item not as described.
I would post the item, and sit tight, there may be no more communication from either buyer or eBay.

I've posted it as planned. There was no email notification of an eBay message, only saw it this afternoon.
It just feels a bit like eBay are taking over some of the communication. But the problem is not knowing if they have, if this is a new normal, if the buyer has a query, even just replied to my message...
Similar sort of thing happened to my father when an item was lost in the post SD and GSP - eBay had messaged to say they were sorting because it was SD - tho it was GSP that had lost it. Finally a message arrived with him from the buyer saying the item had not arrived, after the money was refunded to them via eBay.

Could eBay be taking over your message and communication for you under SD?? Who is to know, anything seems possible, though I have not heard of this from anyone else. 🤔
I think you have made the right actions, that is , posting the item hopefully all will be well !

Buyers get this message.
Ebay have admitted the wording is confusing, they are working on changing it.
