I have bought and sold on eBay for quite a few years now, but in the last 2-3 years more and more is being sourced from the far east. I don't have a problem with this especially when the quality is good and the prices are generally exceptional, but what grates is when I need something fast.
I wanted a USB A socket for something I'm repairing for a friend. I found what I wanted and looked at the seller's name, which appeared as'********-Tool Store UK', so went ahead and placed the order. ( I haven't shown the complete name here).
Imagine my surprise when I find delivery is in 17 days time. I double checked the order details and discovered the part was coming from my local supplier in Shenzen.
I would like to see all listings on eBay, and any other supplier come to that, state where the product is coming from so that when I need something tomorrow I don't fall into this trap again. I'm not wanting this put in place so I can avoid buying Chinese or far eastern products; I want it so I don't sit twiddling my thumbs for 2 weeks waiting for something to arrive when I really want the next day.

True, the listing will show where the ' item' is located / coming from, and for Chinese sellers this is usually a warehouse in the UK to facilitate a faster dispatch.
To check the seller's country of registration and therefore fair chance items are sourced there too, click on their feedback score and profile and it will show seller's country of registration.

Always check estimated delivery date, even if genuine UK seller.
Just because you pay ASAP, does not mean seller posts ASAP.
