"eBay Balance"

Hi, I have been a "buyer" on eBay for years, using Paypal,  but only recently put an item up for sale. I discovered "eBay Balance" just today, and found the reference to it in my account. However, I don't understand how this works, so what I wish to know is as follows:-

1.  Do I need to "sign up" for eBay Balance or do all payments go there regardless of how the buyer pays?
2.  If I sell my item, does it matter how the buyer pays; will their payment always show up in my account as "eBay Balance" at some point, or is there a specific way my buyer needs to pay in order to do this?
2. If the payment does reach my account, I understand that I can use it to pay for items that I buy from there, but if I wish to extract money from my eBay Balance, can I do so by having it transferred to my Paypal account ... or do I have to use a Bank Account for that ?

Many thanks, Gordon .... if I have got this around my neck, please feel free to explain how it should all work!

Re: "eBay Balance"

1 and 2. all payments go through your ebay account, on seller hub, look for PAYMENTS at top and select all transactions.

3. You have to withdraw money, if you are selling you must already have added a bank account and had it verified by ebay. When you withdraw money goes to your bank account, if not withdrawn it is automatically paid out quarterly. Next payment is due early April.

You cannot have money paid to paypal, you would have to do that yourself from your bank.

If somehow you have not added a bank account then you will not get paid.

I see it is collection only, you cannot now accept cash, in fact until paid you cannot exchange contact details with buyer.

I think you need to read this  as  you are going to have problems if sold.

Re: "eBay Balance"

I did sell a couple of item years back but it was never this complicated. I have an interested party, but it has not been sold yet. I think the best way out is for me to apologise to the interested party, remove the advert and re-add after setting up the bank account! Thanks for letting me know, John!!
