re price given by ebay for easy P&P , but item does not fit . can I accept figure from ebay

I want to list an item, and have got as far as P&P. Ebay is now giving me an easy option, but the size of the item does not fit the size of the parcel ....length of box 65cms, item measures 86cms. can I accept  the quoute or could I be penalised for extra postage

I wouldn't risk it.   If it's too big for Simple Delivery you can opt out and choose your own postage.    If you have problems opting out follow the advice on here:
