Missing emails from ebay

There are a couple of posts about missing emails from ebay (which for some reason I can't reply to, which is why I'm starting a new thread - I'd be grateful for any ideas why I can't).

I believe this is already an open technical ticket.

I thought I should make the point that it's across the board on all ebay communications, not just one particular sort. Over the past couple of days I've been missing emails of all types - orders, messages from buyers (I only saw a request for cancellation when I went in to print labels!), postage label links, even payment-to-bank messages.

Probably about 50% of what I should have been getting.

Please treat this as extremely urgent, since it's a real nightmare for any user who doesn't permanently sit within the ebay site or app continually refreshing the screens to see if anything important's happened.

Which I imagine is most of us at this time of year.

We are members like you, we are not responsible for messages from ebay, and have no influence  in getting them sent.

I must admit, that to see the messages you must be on the internet, so simple enough to look at your selling summary to see if any activity or actions required.

Hi. That was a bit of a strange, generic reply.

It's obvious that these are member to members boards, yes :). But they are read and occasionally replied to and taken notice of. Feedback from ebay already exists on other threads regarding this technical problem, and I would have replied to those threads except for the Reply problem that I mentioned in my OP.

Also, I think I made the point that I don't sit with my ebay accounts open all the time, repeatedly checking them. For example, I have a personal account which makes one or two sales a week at most - why would I waste my life repeatedly checking that?

Settings exist within ebay (as with numerous other platforms, such as gumtree, fiverr, amazon, etsy, and so on) to send actionable messages to emails - so that I can look at my email from time to time and see what's happening everywhere at once, in one place, instead of endlessly cycling different platforms. I appreciate that some users sit with their ebay accounts open all the time repeatedly checking for cancellations, queries and messages, sales, return requests and so on. But I think my message made it clear that I'm not one of them.

Also tbf I wasn't really asking for a workaround. I was pointing out functionality that was broken and surely needs addressed, even if it doesn't affect some users.

(I'm not trying to pick a fight, btw. I just don't see the point of your response, considering my OP).

If the posts you were trying to reply to were on this board,  then the reason you can't is because only designated mentors can.

If the posts were on the more general discussion boards, then you have a problem as replying should be open to you.

As far as we all know, Ebay are aware of the problem and are working to fix it,

Mentors have been asked to report specific issues to the Ebay Community Team, however. they are not covering the boards yesterday or today because of the holiday.

I think the response would be along the lines of my opening sentence.

Bear in mind that, although you think this is urgent, it is the holiday season and a lot of people will be having an extended break.

At least you are aware of the issue and can, if you choose, regularly check your account.

Yes, I was checking my ebay accounts regularly once I noticed the problem, but it did seem to clear up (or be fixed) a couple of days ago.
