I am new to selling. A buyer wanted to return a skirt because she said it didn't match the description. This is the first return request I have had. I accepted the return and the skirt arrived today. All good so far. When I then go to process the refund it only shows the cost of the skirt and nothing for postage. I naively told the buyer I would refund all postage costs, and I'm actually fine with that, but my question is, how on earth do I do it. The system doesn't seem to allow me to make any adjustment to include the postage. When I try to do a separate refund it blocks me from doing it because the return request is still pending. Should I just complete the return refund as it stands and then find another way of reimbursing the postage, such as a PayPal payment? I would really appreciate advice on this please.

You have to just refund the amount the buyer paid for the skirt.
You sent it using Ebay simple delivery so the buyer paid Ebay for postage, not you.
I would assume that when you process the refund for the amount of the skirt (the amount you received), Ebay will refund the remaining amount the buyer paid consisting of the postage and the Buyer Protection Fee.
