new postage options - big brother is coming

frustrating new postage options encountered for the first time when listing today - 'simple delivery' or 'advanced' - over an hour spent on chat and I did not get very far - simple delivery would seem to suit me as there is an option to choose Royal Mail collection and for RM to bring a label(I don't have a printer, or a smart phone to utilise QR codes), but the price is 40p more than buying online with RM - 40p's obviously add up over time - there also seem to be limited options for entering package weight when you are conscious that an item might go via GSP - if you can't input the correct weight/dimensions(which you can't in the advanced delivery, and is not comprehensive enough in the 'simple delivery'), how can buyers be charged a fair and correct amount if using GSP - I wish ebay would stop making unnecessary changes

Advanced postage you do it yourself, you do not rely on ebay guesses.

Advanced postage is no more than what many have done for years, quote a price on listing covering postage and packing, then buy and post at the post office.

It is Simple postage that gets things wrong as there is no allowance for packaging so has to be included in price which means ebay get a few extra pennies on every sale.

So who is  beneficiary from Simple Postage, not buyer or seller, it is ebay.

I've looked again at the simplified postage parcel sizes/weights - there is not enough choice ie no option for parcels 750g and below - I know the rate is the same for UK parcels up to 2kg, but it is not the same when it becomes something going via GSP, and the buyer is forced to pay for a 1kg parcel instead of say a 500g parcel - whoever thought this up, I am not impressed - don't fix when something isn't broken!
