bought item, paid postage and now seller saying cannot deliver to my area

Bought a largish item (courier size and fairly heavy) paid fair bit for delivery - now seller says his courier does not deliver to where I live.  Would prefer the goods than a refund, what can I do please

You can't make the seller send it.

If they can't be persuaded to post the item to you, all you can do is wait for them to refund you.

You can leave feedback to express your disappointment.

How long do I wait for refund - it was a tumble dryer £300 including delivery, they accepted my offer of price and delivery.

Bought Sunday, they knew Monday not sending - how/when am I likely to see my money back in bank?

Thanks for any help

In theory, the seller should cancel the sale, this would trigger a refund, and you would get an email from Ebay saying the sale had been cancelled and your refund was being processed.  If this has not already been done, message the seller to say you are disappointed and expect a prompt refund.

Refunds take different amounts of time to get back to you depending how you paid.  Paypal is usually more or less immediate, bank accounts a few working days, credit cards can take up to a month.

If they don't cancel and refund, you will have to wait until one day after the latest estimated delivery date and open an item not received case.

Thank you   Firm/person said yesterday -  'but my delivery service can t accept this address that s why i you refunded your amount'.     I thought I would have heard from ebay of attempt to refund.  I paid by debit card as usual.    Sorry have never had any problem with ebay so have never had any dealings as to how deal with financial problems on here.

You will get an email from Ebay when the cancellation/refund have been processed.

Message the seller and tell them you have not had an email confirming the cancellation/refund.

Suggest you will have to contact Ebay Customer Services if that email doesn't arrive today.

The seller has cancelled your order and they need to refund you asap!

Thank you all, money, money now back in bank.

Wanted me to cancel order, said no, as seller was one cancelling they had to do it.

Excuse was problem with my address - no problem with my address other than he chooses not deliver to my area.

When I write my review it will be very clear

That reason for cancellation also avoids the seller getting a defect.

I wouldn't cancel as it was not my fault, up to seller. Will definitely be
writing a negative review.
Thank you
