Refund including postage

How do I issue a refund including postage costs? Any amount I enter above the purchase price comes up as invalid.

If it's unused Simple Delivery postage the buyer will automatically get a refund of that in 30 days.   If it's a return the full refund will be issued via ebay when you have received the item back.

I don't quite understand. What's the process for initiating the return? Does the buyer need to do something? I'm happy for them to keep the item as it's only of small value but I'm happy to say I've received it without the buyer actually returning it.

Ask the buyer to start a return on ebay.   You will receive notification of that and should get the option to refund without return.

Thank you for your help. The buyer has started the returns process but when I accept it I'm still only given the option to refund the purchase price it won't let me include postage.

You can only refund the amount you received,with Simple Delivery eBay gets the postage and sends you a link to the label.

If you issue the refund via the case you will refund the item amount and eBay should refund the postage.
