winning bids

Can someone in the community help figure this one out for me.

I was bidding on a item and already had the highest bid, I set my maximum bid at £320:97.

At the auction end the winning bid was £318:20 but I was not declared the winner.

Your max bid was not high enough increment above winning one.

What I fail to understand the bid of £318:20 was placed with seconds left on the auction, so surely to be the winning bid it would have to be higher than my £320:97 maximum.

You probably need to add the  buyer protection fee to the £318.20 before you compare it to your max bid.

You need to allow for the buyer fee when placing a bid.

your bid is including the fee when placed and wasn't high enough, the winning bid was £331.17  incl. £13.08 for buyer protection.

The Bid History shows the amount the seller receives without the buyer fee, yourmaximum  bid includes the buyer fee when placed.

The maximum amount you were prepared to pay was £320.97 the winning bid was £331.17 inc fees, the winner was prepared to pay more.
