chinese sellers posing as uk seller

I recently bought buffing pads from a UK registered business  .  delivery info stated 3days product info stated 48hours.       Three days came and went tracking info is fake post office does not have my item.         Ask seller for update they state Sorry for delay with logistics not there end.  Ask eBay to cancel purchase , ask seller to refund as I no longer require the item as I do not have time to do the work. eBay tell me to wait bought item on the 1 June now the 9th June done waiting so I take look at this company. Co is sporting UK address, but based in China.  When i look at the invoice realise I paid VAT on top even though i selected lowest price on search. choices i was given all turn out to be in China and do not deliver in 48 hours or even 72 hours. Excuse my french but I am well pi---off . If I select UK company that is what I expect to be shown, these Chinese companies dominate the searches and ruin what should be a pleasant experience.  If you or I presented ourselves so dishonestly here on eBay UK  like these sellers do you would not last long. For what ever reason they are allowing these companies to continue , while protecting them at the same time.

Chinese sellers often use UK depots / forwarding Companies to affect a faster dispatch for their items this is all above board.  eBay's location information is for the item and not where the seller is located .  For this,  you need to click on the seller's feedback and their profile will show their country of registration.

However,  if the dispatch time is for example, 3 days and the item takes week arriving with a Chinese stamp,  this is misrepresentation and the item / seller can be reported for this.

For your item, just proceed this way:

Go right of the item purchased,  and from More Actions select....  I Have Not Received My Item.

If you are not fully refunded within 3 days,  you must escalate the case on day 4 or within 30 days from opening the case,  and eBay will step in and force the refund.

Do not close the case early for any excuse or promise the seller may give,  you may well receive many requests to do this,  and do not forget to escalate.

Thank you for the advice  but what has any of that got to do with the fact i believed i was buying from UK based business.

The seller has a union jack flag plastered all over the item pictures .

Its all most as if I am to believe the item is in the UK.

The item location is given as a UK address.

They misrepresented the item location and lied about the dispatch time.

The VAT number being used on this sellers page is fake much like his return address.

My answer is everything to do with your initial question.

It's only misrepresentation if it states the item will be delivered in a few days and it takes weeks arriving with a Chinese stamp.

The location on listing,  is the location of the item not the seller's location.  That's the way eBay have always listed that fact.  I'm not disputing that it is misleading, and the only way to check a seller's country for registration is to get their profile from their feedback score.

If you have to return an item, yes you may be fobbed off with a Chinese address,  it happened to me, I too made the mistake of not checking my seller's country of registration, but the item goes back to the UK address and to no other.

If I purchase through eBay UK and I select UK seller I do not expect to be kept waiting while they source the goods.     Simple really,  you seem to be having a problem understanding my predicament.                                      The item was listed with 3 day delivery its now 10 days since purchase and I am being made to wait for a refund.     The item was stated in the listing as being in the UK, otherwise I would not of made the purchase.

How do you know where the item goes back to, I haven't given you any particular details. ?
