Hello, My listing just went live (yesterday) but 'Buy It Now' is not shown on the listing. I can still see it if I log in and go to the 'revise listing' page, but 'Buy It Now' is not show on the public facing page. I'm no worried my item will sell for a pittance!

A Buy it Now price is not a Reserve, it's a price to be used by a buyer who does not wish to wait for an auction to end and happy to pay that price.
Once a bid is placed , the Buy it Now Price disappears and the sale runs on in auction style only in fairness to the other bidder(s).
Always start auctions for the lowest amount you are happy to receive it cannot sell for less, and if you only recceive one bid, you will have achieved the price you wanted.

Thank you, tressygirl.
I was sure I've seen listings with 'Buy It Now' or maybe 'offers accepted' or 'ONO', as well as a bidding option. I must be wrong. In the future I would prefer to set a price and receive offers, rather than go the auction route. Is that possible on Ebay UK?

Yes, you can list items as either a Sole Buy it Now listing or add a Best Offer option to it. Then, when an offer is received, you can either accept it, this sells the item for that offer price to the buyer, decline the offer, or send a counter offer.
