Postage costs to buyers

Good morning,

I do hope that someone can help me.

I have only recently re-joined Ebay as a seller and the rules and information regarding the listing of postage seem much more complicated than earlier. I am located in the Channel Islands.

I wish to sell both to UK and Worldwide. When listing an item for sale I have listed domestic postage at £2.25 and international at £6.00 based on rates here in Jersey.

When I visit my listing the domestic postage is not shown and under postage there is only reference to the international cost of postage. This could give the buyer a wrong impression and deter potential buyers/bidders. Unless the buyer also sees the domestic postage cost ? I am not clear about this.

Has anybody else had this problem and do you know how to resolve it?

I have current listings ending soon and have just noticed the above .

Sorry to ramble but I am anxious to ensure that my listings correctly record the sale/postage costs.

Many thanks in advance.

David.

Postage to UK is shown as RM £2.40.

However it also says 20% VAT will be added to item cost,

this is because CI are classed as outside mainland, but i'm sure you know that.

Thanks,
The point is that on my listing for potential buyers who view it, it only shows international postage of £6.00 whereas the actual domestic postage is much cheaper. I have entered this when listing the item but it does not show up when the item is viewed.
I've just checked a dvd that I am selling and although I entered £2.25 for Postage costs the listing is showing only international postage at £6.00 ++ !!
Hope this more clearly explains my problem and concern.
I've tried to amend this in the delivery section of the listing but the final listing still shows the higher postage.
Very frustrating.
It used to be so easy to list domestic postage and invite requests for postage for other destinations.
I don't have a problem with setting an international postage cost but I wish potential buyers to see the domestic postage rate first. !
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Try logging out & then viewing your own items.

As I said, shows £2.40 for me on mainland UK.

Thanks,
I've tried that but it's still showing the £6.30 postage. The item just before me is showing postage at 2.60.
Am I entering the wrong information when listing under postage costs. I've tried several variations but I must be doing something wrong ?
Your help and any suggestions would be very much appreciated as . At this rate, I shall miss a number of sales !
Thanks again.

I can't see the postage cost you say you can.

Can only suggest you contact eBay CS,  good luck.

The Channel Islands are not just outside the mainland, they're not even part of the UK.

This is bound to affect the tax status and possibly postal cost of your items.

I did a check using Jersey Post to UK.

Large letter 100g was £1.62.

Hi,
Yes, and this confirms my charges and upon which I based my listing.
I have just visited EBay from an external computer as a stranger and all my items are showing postage at over £6.00. Whatever changes I try to effect under the delivery section when I go to revise item don’t seem to work. Although when I look at My EBay I.e. to check my listings the correct postage is shown in brackets.
It seems that EBay has decided that my international rate should apply to domestic sales !!
I do appreciate your time and I am frustrated at not being able to resolve what should be a fairly simple problem. There must be something blatantly wrong that I am doing or not doing but I just can’t work it out. In the meantime I imagine potential buyers will be put off by my listed postal costs.
Regards.
