Hi anybody,
Not used this part of the Ebay site before, so thank you in advance for any support on my issue.
I bid on an item tonight, with the final total including postage at £60. I was stunned that having outbid someone with this amount I then lost. The winning bid won with a lower amount, it made no sense, when I looked, I realised that the amount Ebay said I actually bid was in fact lower than the amount I actually entered.
This makes no sense, I buy and sell regular, and have never experienced this before, I entered in good time to win the bid, but the amount of my bid shown was not what I entered, I can live with not winning, just frustrated at the reason I lost, to a lower bid amount than me? What on earth is all that about?
Thanx again

What's the listing number?

Probably the Buyer Fee eBay take from your bid.
When you enter a bid of £60 this is the maximum you are prepared to pay and includes the eBay Buyer Fee,your bid will have shown as about £57 the amount the seller would receive.

If you were looking at the bid history page those figures exclude the buyer protection fee. The other bidder will have bid more than you when you take that fee into account (4% plus 75p).
You can read about this fee in the help pages.
