If I have this right. Ebay has a new Prepaid label system which they have made the default option when selling on Ebay.
The process guesses the weight and size of the item and locks that in when listing.
So far 2 out of 3 times that guess has been wrong when I come to package up the item.
There is no way to update the size or weight once the item has been sold. There is also no way to cancel the postage label and buy a new one without speaking to Ebay.
I now know that I have to remove this default 'Simplified postage option' when listing, but Why has Ebay put in this terrible system that forces the Seller to package up and measure an item before listing it?
Or have I got something wrong.

Presumably you have found the ADVANCED POSTAGE -
Simple postage is not simple but it makes more money for ebay, as it used to be Post and Packaging, but with “Simple” packaging has to be covered in selling price, so ebay fee is calculated on price plus postage. Only a few pence extra but on Millions of sales these few pence mount up.
Advanced implies a better service, it is a better service even though it is just sellers taking control of postage.

Yes I found the advanced tap thanks and changed all my listings to it.
I just can not understand why Ebay would implement this money making scheme, and then cripple it from the outset by forcing Sellers to package their goods before they are sold.
