cancelling and refunding buyer

I posted an item for sale . then my buyer was overcharged by eBay, they were not happy and asked me to reimburse. I said I haven't been paid by eBay yet so I can't refund . the item hasn't been sent as we both decided against the sale due to extra expenses on both sides. ie, vat on my side. as from Guernsey. but eBay won't pay me as the item says posted but its not. and im not refunding till they pay me . or they refund her. im confused .

If you printed the postage label it will mark the item as dispatched so you need to cancel that.  Go to Selling/Orders, select Postage labels on lefthand side, then click on Actions dropdown menu for the label and select Cancel Label. 

Then click on the dropdown menu arrow alongside the item on your orders page and select Cancel order > Buyer asked to cancel.   A refund will be issued in the process.
