Setting the item location correctly on your listings helps us show accurate estimated delivery dates and apply the right bank holiday handling for your region.
Why this matters
When your item location (including postcode) is correct, buyers see delivery timelines that reflect working days. If the postcode is missing or inaccurate, we are unable to determine if your items should be included in the Bank Holiday and this can lead to your listing showing dispatch and delivery dates on a bank holiday in your region. When this happens it can confuse buyers and lead to inaccurate estimated delivery dates.
Regional Bank Holidays (not UK-wide)
Across the year, some bank holidays apply only to certain UK regions. Examples include:
- Northern Ireland – St Patrick’s Day
- Scotland – 2nd January
- Scotland – Early August Bank Holiday
- England, Wales and Northern Ireland – Late August Bank Holiday
What you need to do
Make sure the item location on your listings shows your full details including the postcode so we can accurately map regional bank holidays; please review and update item locations promptly if you do not currently have the postcode added. If you move or your postcode changes, you will need to update that on your listings.

What happens if it’s wrong
If your item location does not include the postcode, during a non-UK-wide bank holiday, dispatch and delivery dates may appear on the holiday date even when your region should be treated as a non-working day. Fixing the location and including the postcode will resolve this.
