A courier left my item at the wrong communal entrance instead of delivering it to my stated address. The entrance used is approximately 75 metres away from my actual delivery address, and there are multiple entrances to the building.
This particular entrance serves around 150 flats and is not a secure or appropriate delivery location. The item was left unattended and was subsequently stolen.
I raised this issue under eBay Buyer Protection, as the item was not delivered to my address or to me personally. Despite this, eBay customer service dismissed my case and informed me that I would not be receiving a refund.
Under eBay Buyer Protection, items must be delivered to the buyer’s address or a secure, agreed location. Leaving a parcel unattended at the wrong entrance of a large communal building that was not agreed upon clearly does not meet this standard.
Has anyone successfully appealed a decision like this, or can advise on escalation routes within eBay to obtain a refund?
Any guidance from the community would be appreciated.
