Issues with 3d printed goods

Hi all looking for a bit of advice, I have a very common splitting of opinions on 3d printed goods, the design has not changed for some time and m manufacturing is not at fault (every item requires cleanup following production so they get fully examined).

It's intended to be a repair at half the price of OEM or copy parts, and most people are happy with that

Problems I have are consistent variants of:

"They don't fit"

"They don't look original"

They look like low quality 3d prints"

While I wouldn't have an issue with this if there was any faults: no return shows any defect or variation from the norm, and any requests for a replacement during install breakages I generally send to them out of my own pocket as I understand it's a fairly in depth repair.

I also VERY clearly state the nature, the fact it does not look the same  (as it is 3d printed a new design is required) along with detailed pictures

Now, knowing ebay is a nightmare for sellers and returns, if I buy a new set of the item (a moderate costing set of sony headphonenes)it fits to, show the returned  item fitted to it, in order to prove to ebay that its user error or failure to read the description, will I at least get my return postage, and the original postage back or a restocking fee ?  Another big one is the negative feedback, I'm low volume and as such it makes a big difference for things I cannot change

Your bigger problem is that you make things to sell and yet are doing so on a private ebay account,  Ebay policies require members who do that to do so from a business account.  Perhaps that might also make you look more professional and less likely to get returns?  However it is possible that these issues are inherent in the kind of thing you are selling and nothing will prevent them.

Ebay pretty much accept the buyer's word for an item not as described claim, you can't prove to them that the return was unwarranted.

adding to the advice already given -

You state in a listing that you have altered the original Sony design, so perhaps that's a reason why a buyer claims it does not fit.

In any event you are heading for serious problems using the brand name 'Sony' when the item is not Sony and even more trouble altering Sony's designs.

I'll have at look at the language, altered would not be correct, reverse engineered and redesigned would be. There is not basis on any model templates made by Sony, only iterative design by eye and calipers.

Title changes have been made, though I just don't understand why people don't look at a description in this day an age, especially when it's in the title

If that's the case then ebay is going to be gone for me soon, I can't afford the business fees and free returns for the volume I ship- I don't sell hundreds of items a year it's just a side thing I do for enjoyment (though I do complete my tax reporting, it's running as a loss due to costs)
