Accepting an offer

Hi, can someone help me please. I have an item for sale by auction, with no buy it now price, which so far as only one bid. this bidder has offered an amount to buy it now which i will accept. How do i go about doing this. The auction has 5 days left to run. I have tried to revise the listing price to include a buy it now option to enable this potential buyer to  buy it but not able too. I obviously do not want to break any ebay rules. i have tried asking the AI assistant but getting nowhere.

Re: Accepting an offer

Once a bid has been placed,  you cannot change any price on the listing,  you cannot accept any offers,  even if it's from the buyer who has placed the bid.

The auction has to run on in auction style only, now to its end.

Re: Accepting an offer

Once there is a bud it is not possible to change.

Best way would be to cancel sale and relist for him to buy again at agreed price.

He should have contacted you before bidding

I doubt it is possible, but before ebay mucked about with the system it would have been possible to send a revised invoice and add extra to the postage. Not strictly allowed but ways have to be found to work round ebay’s failings, which I think many come under the heading of “unintended consequences”.

Re: Accepting an offer

Thanks so much for the info. I am not very genned up with ebay since it changed. I will let the buyer know.
