After contacting seller I agreed to return faulty items for a refund. Items were retuned on 6th January and delivered on 9th January by Royal Mail. I’ve contacted seller but not received details of refund.

Did you open a return case through Ebay or just message the seller?

Who supplied the label you used?

When did you receive your faulty item?

Unless you deal with this in the correct method, you will not be able to enforce a refund.

 

It does not sound as though you opened a proper return case through ebay and that is the only way to guarantee getting a refund.

These goods were ordered on 28th December. I messaged the seller to inform them of faulty goods and agreed to return for a refund. I returned the items by Royal Mail at my local post office on 6th January. I have a receipt for this and have checked Royal Mail tracking which shows the items were delivered to the seller on 9th January.
I informed the seller when they were posted also again to ask if it had been received to which the reply was no. Two days ago I contacted seller again to inform them that according to Royal Mail tracker the items had been delivered. I have had no rely back from seller.

I thought the first port of call was to contact the seller. Obviously not.
A lesson learnt I suppose and looks like a few pounds out of pocket.

If the seller is not being helpful, you are still in time to open a return case through Ebay.

Start a return.  (I know you have already returned the item.)

Add your own tracking to the return.

If the seller doesn't then refund you, then you should be able to ask Ebay to step in.

I am giving it a go now. I have chose return request and filled in “why are you returning “ also added a photo. Clicked continue and it’s come up “how would you like to return the item?” I’m not sure what to do. Can you advise?

Have you chosen the reason 'item is faulty' or similar?

I don't know what the options are for 'how would you like to return'?

2 Royal Mail Drop off

Choose RM drop off.

Ebay will send details of the case to the seller.

They (the seller) may supply a label.  If they do, you will need to contact Ebay, explain you sent the item back using your own label and ask them to add your tracking.

If the seller doesn't respond to the case or provide a label within 3 days, you can ask Ebay to step in through the case and they should refund you from the seller's funds.

I have ticked drop off, yet another box drops down.

All I’ve done is press continue and RETURN REQUEST appears with return reason …..item defective
NOTE TO SELLER. Faulty goods returned for refund
After that the details of Return Postage appears also How you will be refunded.
Submit. Which I have pressed.
Now details of GET A REFUND AT DROP OFF appears with a QR code and instructions to print a label.
