I received a message from a so-called Victoria, robot of Packlink eBay recently, regarding charging me an extra £10 for shipping, based on the following.
"The courier has reported that the dimensions of your package were 59 x 111 x 25 cm"
Thankfully, my buyer photographed the box for me, over a month after delivery, so I could attach proof of dimensions:
The dimensions are & have been confirmed as: 47 x 100 x 19 cm.
I did not make a mistake & have not done so in the last 20 years, regarding getting dimensions or weights correct. The weight was OBVIOUSLY not above 10KG. An Ibanez GIO electric guitar (the model I shipped) typically weighs between 3.2 kg to 4.1 kg. With the packaging added, it was over the 5KG mark (around 7KG in total) so I had to select the 'up to 10KG' option to cover the cost. It's quite simple. I don't understand how this became an issue.
I wrote that 'I look forward to your prompt explanation of the couriers false claim, which I think warrants a formal complaint.'
I am still waiting for a reply & my £10 returned to me. TIP: Take photos of shipping dims & weights, as there could be scams within the systems.
