i would like to know how I can get/ download invoices for parts I have purchased on eBay.

You can view all purchases,(recent & over 60 days old) for the last 7 years on ebay,see here,Your purchase history | eBay

many thanks I know purchase history, however how do I download an invoice for each purchase for my business records.

Okay,so see here,

1. Go to the Payments tab - opens in new window or tab in Seller Hub or Payments - opens in new window or tab in My eBay.
2. Select Reports.
3. Select the Invoices tab. You'll see the list of available Invoices by month.
4. To download a report for a specific month, select Summary Download or Detail Download.
