Returns

If an item turned up, didn't work, so I contacted the seller to return it seller agreed the return, so I sent it back paid for the tracking myself, then I realised I need to do the refund through eBay so I went through the process and it gives me an additional tracking label to use what happens if I don't use that tracking label ? Have I just screwed myself sending back off my own money ? The item has already been sent back so do I send them an empty envelope just to use the label so the tracking they have given me can be seen to be returned ?

You won't have proof of return.   If the seller is honest they will refund anyway.    If not use your envelope idea.
