Shop refused to allow me collection of parcel without a barcode .I requested barcode from seller who said it was an ebay matter .
Shop owner made me pay for postage of the item and refused to issue a receipt to release it . Shop owner said he could not issue receipt with a valid barcode ! I paid just to resolve the matter .
How can I get my money back for postage ? I am furious and needed the item so I paid he postage to the shop owner
Any ideas ??

Did the parcel actually have inadequate postage on it?

Sounds like it was RM parcel with insufficient postage, so no collection code required.
Ebay won't make seller refund this.
You could have refused to pay and then opened item not received case.

It is not at all clear what has happened here, but no-one will refund any extra postage you paid.

no The shop collection point demanded the barcode as proof of postage payment
was forced to pay to get item

The collection shop is a scam or the seller is .

You do NOT pay to collect item.

ebay and seller should protect the consumer Free postage advertising is a false and deceptive offense .

Maybe seller thought freepost means they don't pay to send it.
I still think it was unpaid postage fee, nothing to do with collection.

I too am confused as to what's happened here.
The shop owner would not have paid for postage, so why did they want you to reimburse them?

It's far from VERY clear what has happened here
I assume you ordered an item to be delivered to your local click & collect store.
How did you know the item had arrived and was ready to be collected?
eBay issue the collection code when the store notifies them the goods have arrived
As for the store paying the insufficient postage charge this I highly doubt, How much was it?
Whatever happened to cause all these failures you are unlikely to get a refund for any extra postage you paid.
