Chat to an eBay Assistant

How do you get past the Auto-assistant to actually chat to an eBay Assistant? All I get is the option to have eBay call me and that is a waste of time, as all I get is a person who talks at 99 miles per second and is foreign and doesn't speak clearly.

Chat to an eBay Assistant

The direct link to CS has been suspended probably as a temporary measure as I'm sure calls have multiplied at this time of year, due to all the new changes with Simple Delivery,  and late postal deliveries due to Xmas backlogs etc.

You can get through to a ' live agent' ,  but it takes time and perseverance to pass the bot,  and to keep insisting to speak to an agent.

Much faster is to come back here, describe the issue you've encountered,  there are many experienced members here,  happy to help you.

Chat to an eBay Assistant

Hi Tressygirl, thank you for the reply, unfortunately, I have tried for over an hour on 3 occasions to get past the bot without success, it never gave me the option to "talk to an agent" at anytime. I hope normal services are return before Dec 31st as that is the deadline for my return to be sent. I informed the seller that they had sent the wrong item as it was too big, the seller accepted my return request but only gave me the option to pay the return postage of £7.99 as the seller stated that I had "changed my mind", which is totally wrong - the item itself cost £12.99 - so I need to talk to an agent.

Again, Thank You for the reply, hope you had a very Merry Christmas and I wish you a very Happy New Year.

Chat to an eBay Assistant

I can hopefully save you another long wait for a live agent.

What was the reason for the return?  Was it mis described in the listing for example showing a Size 12 in the listing,  and you received say a size 14?  Then, opening a case for  item not as described >> Item Does Not Match the Listing,  there's no need to contact the seller,  or Customer Services.

Here,  if the seller does not refund or send you that tracked return postage label,  you simply escalate the case,  eBay step in and force the refund.

However,  if you opened a case and claimed ' item does not fit' , here,  you DO have to pay for that tracked return postage and do so within the timeline of the case, or you will not be refunded.

No need to contact anyone just follow the above, as said,  it depends wholly on the reason you selected for the return as to who pays the postage.
