Meaningless feedback

Today, after 15yrs i have received a feedback that is not positive.

The item was sold over a month ago, No contact has been received with this person.

the feedback was Neutral with just the letter "b"

looking at this persons account and "feedback left for others" he has done the same to other sellers, leaving just jumbled up letters.

I have requested ebay remove this. They have refused to do so, stating that this does not go againt the feedback policy.

despite the policy stating, and i quote - We remove all feedback that contains any: Meaningless content or images

I have raised a complaint, and been told my a manager that feedback ratings are never removed, if they were to remove it, they only remove the text, not the actual rating.

she offered to remove the letter "b" but the rating would stand.

I asked, if I was left a negative feedback, and it was obviously left for the wrong item, eg "the vase arrived smashed" on the sale of a pair of shoes - what would they do?

This manager said that they would remove the text only. The negative rating would stay on the account.

I know what she has told me is wrong. But its like talking to a brick wall. I was told i cannot complain about this, or take it any further.

Meaningless feedback

Annoyingly from time to time as is now,  the feedback page from members becomes unavailable to view!

I was going to check that feedback and confirm it was a Neutral.  If a neutral , then it shouldn't affect any scores or performance issues for you.

eBay in my humble opinion,  should have removed that feedback , because if it is just a letter ' b ' , then it is indeed meaningless.

If they won't remove it and a feedback revision is ignored, you can if you wish , add a simple follow up something like    ' feedback left in error '  .

Keep it simple as anyone can see it was a mistake, and your feedback will be read by others !

Meaningless feedback

As a neutral does not affect your % and will only be visible if a member searches for it, just forget about it. Just block the buyer as  you do not want or need their custom.

Ebay have rules which they ignore when it suites them, quoting their own rules to them is a waste of time, I  suspect they are incapable of understanding what  the rule means

Meaningless feedback

As @tressygirl  says we can't see your feedback but from what you say it is just a neutral,  it has zero effect on your account, and hopefully will have dropped off the page soon.

Leave well alone would be my advice to you. Once it drops off the page no one will even notice it.
