Selling

I sold an item for £5 they charge £2.49 postage and then 45p VAT they charge the customer £8 something and I’ve got £1.88. I don’t think it was worth selling because that doesn’t even cover the postage

You sold the item with Ebay simple delivery so the postage (2.49 + 45p VAT) would have been paid direct to Ebay and they issue a label that you access via the sold item.

You should not have bought a label/paid postage.

You have listed another jacket with a reserve.

There is a fee if you use a reserve - 4% of the reserve price - so it is possible that the fee for that has come out of the money for your other sale.

You need to read about how Simple Delivery works.

Most sellers don't use reserves because of the cost.

Start the sale at the lowest price you would be happy to accept.
