Items on ebay do get automatically relisted until sold or cancelled/ended,and as a private seller your now enrolled in the new buyer protection changes, so now the buyer protection fee is added onto your listings.

The Buyer Protection fee is calculated as:

  • A flat fee of up to £0.75 per item, and
  • 4% of the item price up to £300, and
  • 2% of any portion of the item price from £300 to £4,000

Auto relists can be stopped either by ending the current one early via the dropdown menu next to the item on your selling page.   Or revising it and removing the option near the bottom before you submit.

The increased price has been added by ebay and is their new buyer protection fee.   Details here:

OK,  So are  interested buyers seeing my price or yours with the buyers protection added,

Think they need to make Buyers aware of this, as I put that on at 3.99,  It can have a knock on effect, and this may be the reason buyers are not buying , it is DEAD  ATM  I think you may have shot yourselves in the foot, I would sooner you bring  Fees back, 10% or even 12 % off everything that is sold

Thank you

Buyers will always see the price including the BPF so as ebay say there is no suprise at checkout.

Many sellers and buyers are not happy about the new changes, and you can read up and follow up the issues on the ebay discussion boards here, Discussion - UK eBay Community

We are members like you, not ebay. These charges are nothing to do with us.

It is a consequence of Free to list, and making buyers pay for  protection which was previously free. Buyers are not getting anything extra, where else do you buy only to have the-price inflated by buyer fees.

Like you I think the old system was fairer.
