I have fallen foul of the new system of collection and scanning QR code.
How can you mark an item as collected without the code or 6 digit number?
The item sold was collected by the parents of the buyer who seemed very genuine.
I allowed them to take the item which was a wooden moses basket stand and basket.
Of course I couldn't scan the QR code and I didn't think to ask them to call their daughter
to get the 6 digit number from her before leaving with it, believing that I could message her and ask her to send it to me over ebay. I've messaged several times and I'm getting no response!
I'm now concerned that as time elapses ebay will refund the buyer believing that the item has
not been collected.
There was an initial problem with payment being processed but it was paid for and I have withdrawn
the funds to my account already. However, this wont prevent ebay from refunding the buyer. The original listing is also still contained within my items for sale and my order box????
At this time, I have no reason to believe I've been hoodwinked, especially as the parents offered me the cash, but then who knows these days?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. M

If the buyer won't reply there's nothing you can do to mark as collected. eBay will not refund the money. You will just have to wait up to 21 days for it to be released but you will get it in the end.

Thank you for repyling quickly! EBay has made the assumption that it will be the buyer who collects and not a third party that may or may not be in possession of the QR 6 Digit code. I will now make sure I get that code before buyers leave with the goods! I have fortunately been able to withdraw the funds to my account, so if you are correct then they will not refund the buyer unless the buyer raises a case of goods not received???
Just slightly concerned that my messages have gone unanswered when they paid for the item! Not the simple transaction that I’d hoped for but have learnt a valuable eBay lesson! So many changes to keep up with it’s getting way too stressful! Thank you again

That's right, ebay would only refund if the buyer opened a "not received" case.
