Hello, a potential buyer has sent me a message on ebay reasonably asking where the collection would be from, but my reply giving even just the street name (without full post code) has been blocked by eBay due to its member to member policy regarding personal details.
Please advise because I haven't yet done the Collection Only option as a seller.
Thanks in advance!

Absolutely no contact details can be exchanged before a purchase made.
Do not try and repeat any contact detail, not only will the message be blocked again, you may receive a selling restriction as it looks like an ' of eBay sale' is being made.

I see.
Thank you.
So I assume the full address can be shared once the purchase on ebay is made.
Thanks again.

Yep, once the item has been purchased, the buyer pays through eBay checkout, cash on collection is not allowed, and at this point they receive that all important 6 digit QR collection code.
At this point addresses can be exchanged and times for collection discussed.
One tip after purchase, message the buyer to please remember to bring that code with them, as the item will not be released without it.
This is your only proof when it's scanned or numbers entered manually, that the item was collected and this releases your payout sooner, too.

To add to the good advice given, if you list items as collection only, you can add your general area to the description. So, for example, 'collection only from Barnet'.

Wow! Thank you so much for the in-depth advice. Much appreciated.

Thank you. Yes, I believe my city is specified on the listing and I've now mentioned that to the potential buyer.
Many thanks!

It says 'London' on your listings - that is a very large area for a buyer to consider collection.
