Enforced Simple Delivery

I've been a loyal buyer and seller on Ebay for 20 years. Due to poor health I haven't put any bits up for sale for a while, but tried to add an item yesterday and almost threw my computer out of the window. This so called Simple Delivery is absolutely appalling, I couldn't get my head round it all, AI chat was useless so I requested a call from Ebay customer service. The lady who phoned me was lovely and tried to be helpful, but honestly I ended up none the wiser - she told me that from 15th April this Simple Delivery is absolutely the only way to sell items and you cannot change it. She also tried to tell me that it's better for Ebay customers (it absolutely isn't) When I mentioned that I had recently seen online articles with complaints about the Simple Delivery, she told me that Ebay are aware that customers aren't happy - if that's the case why continue to push it on us? So I tried to create the listing using only Royal Mail, but Ebay calculated the costing of shipping incorrectly and I would have been paying more for postage than they were allowing me to charge and it will not let me change the fee. This is crazy, sellers have always been able to alter the postage fee, Ebay cannot possibly calculate fees correctly as they do not have size or weight of my parcel. I spoke to my friend who has also been on Ebay for years, she showed me her selling page and she can still change things  to suit her.  In all the years I've been loyal to Ebay, I've stuck with them through a variety of changes to the site, but this is the first drastic change that I simply don't understand and am furious that they are forcing things on us that we neither understand or want. Has anyone found a way round the wrongfully named Simple Delivery please?

Enforced Simple Delivery

There is no ' way round' or workaround not to use Simple Delivery,  it's mandatory for all Private sellers.

Many do not like it,  join in or read the many long threads on the Discussion page from disgruntled sellers.

However,  it's here to stay, here's a link to fully explain how SD works.

Enforced Simple Delivery

Thanks @Tressygirl, I received an email from Ebay today asking for feedback on my selling experience, so I sent them my experience and personal comments surrounding the ridiculous 'Simple Delivery' nonsense. The most complained about topic on this forum is SD, unsurprisingly, but I suppose Ebay are making a lot of money out of it so won't be caving in to our many complaints. They know it's bad, they know Ebayers aren't happy, but they're doing nothing about it. Telling us 'it's a better experience for sellers' is a downright lie and a con. Someone will eventually come up with a better, more user friendly online company to compete with Ebay and Ebay will quickly change tack then.
