Contacting a Seller - Message failure?

I am trying to send a message to a seller to enquire about a potential purchase, but I keep getting the "Send Message Failed. Please try again" error.  It doesn't happen with any others.  Am I inadvertently blocked by the seller, or are there other darker forces at play?

If you've dealt with them before they could have put your ID on their blocked bidder list for some reason.    Or they might have a general block in force that affects you.   Either way sellers can block messages from blocked buyers.   Or it could just be a temporary eBay glitch.   Plenty of those around at the moment.
